The tracking of the satellite in the video was done by web page n2yo and is for the purpose of the video only and is not needed for this process. the software used is SDRSHARP, and WXTOIMG, but there are other softwares out there. These satellites orbot over us several times a day and using easily available software and some inexpensive equipment we can download them from home, even on emergency power and lack of tv signals or the internet. Using software defined radio (sdr) to receive and decode NOAA satellites as they orbit over your area. + Interfacing Arduino to flight simulator & Tutorials: + Software Defined & Amateur Radio & Tutorials + DIY Brain Computer/Robot Interface & Tutorials: These settings work well for me but you may need to tune you setup to gain the best results. Here is an inexpensive DIY version you can build: I am using a QFH antenna inside my attic so the reception could definitely be better if the antenna was better placed.
